I was invited to a very exclusive event this week at the absolutely spectacular, Swarovski encrusted venue of Cavalli Club, Dubai. However, we were not here to muse over drinks alone; we had the company of nail art royalty in our midst!
This was the launch of American nail lacquer brand Morgan Taylor. With a range of colours more diverse than rainbows, the brand offers premium quality nail-polishes in sophisticated, ergonomically designed packaging. If you haven’t heard of this brand, chances are you’ve heard (and used!) their sister product, Gelish!
The colours of the Morgan Taylor collection range from classic to avant-garde, subtle to unconventionally bold. They have a shade that fits every discerning manicure addict! I really like their Virtual Salon, an interactive online tool that lets you find a colour according to your skin tone and nail shape, do have a play yourself: https://www.morgantaylorlacquer.com/virtual-salon
The story behind Morgan Taylor is as colourfully interesting as its range! It all started around 30 years ago when nail technicians Danny Haile and David Daniel got together to try to revolutionize the nail industry. Their Gelish soak-off gel polish has changed the manicure game for good, but even before Gelish, the duo worked on creating a line that used the finest ingredients to ensure stunning colour results for the novice home manicurist.
The duo left no stone unturned with the creation of this brand. They started with the bottle itself. Custom designed to easily fit into the hands, and perfectly weighted for comfort and balance, the Morgan Taylor bottle is suave and understated chic.
The cap is ergonomically designed for easy handling, and the brush features ultra fine bristles allowing the manicurist ease and precision with every stroke.
To show their commitment and endearment for this collaboration, Haile and Daniel named the brand after their beloved daughters Morgan and Taylor.
The girls now act as the ambassadors of the brand, and it was an absolute pleasure mingling with them amid the grandeur of Cavalli Club.

Another interesting personality gracing the event was Shon Krasney, the founder of the Shon K brand. Shon K is an unconventional diamond dealer, unconventional in the sense that he looks as diamond use beyond jewelry. In line with the Morgan Taylor event, and perfectly apt given the Swarovski-studded ambiance of Cavalli Club, Shon K generously gave away little pockets of diamond and ruby light nail decor to all the ladies!
We got treated to a Gelish manicure at the event, but this is no ordinary feat. Not only did our selected finger get studded with genuine diamonds and rubies, but the very talented nail technician Antony Buckley (who happens to be a globally renowned nail artist and educator – click here for more on him!) had his creative juices on overdrive and did some amazing nail art worth Instagramming.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen the rose art on my nail, finished off with a Shon K stud:
One of the other nail technicians had a self-portrait on her thumb! They make it look so easy, I wish I had an ounce of their nail designing talent.
Home manicurists look out for Morgan Taylor. This much coveted American import has finally made its way to the UAE, and will be available at select beauty outlets and salons this summer.
