interesting to get an insight into the life of a plastic surgeon. Here is an excerpt of my chat with Dr. Parikh:

What does it take to be a plastic surgeon? Obviously you need a keen eye for beauty, and very steady, artistic hands?

Unlike regular doctors, you come across a people who demand to be more handsome or beautiful. You don’t meet diseased persons. These are clients with a happy face rather than a sad patients.

As a sculptor of beauty, what is your ideology on beauty?

Beauty is a birth right of every human being at every age, looking gorgeous is a right of every person.

Has there been a recent increase in the demand for invasive beauty treatments? What is your take on this?

Yes, now even parents of brides and grooms demand such treatments!

What treatments are available for those who prefer not going under the knife?

Laser surgery, ultrasonic +radio frequency, thermage, chemical peeling.

Can you give us celebrity examples of invasive and non-invasive treatments that have worked well and not so well?

It has worked well for many celebrities! I cannot disclose names. An example of it going wrong would have to be Arun Jetley!

If you could work on a celebrity, who would it be, and what would you do?

Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

What is the most difficult part of being a plastic surgeon?

Expectations of patients is very high, there is a limitation of science.

What are the benefits of plastic surgery apart from aesthetic beauty?

It help to improve functionality and activities after cancer surgery, trauma, burns.

How does practicing in Dubai differ from practicing in India?

In Dubai are patient are more informed and well prepared.

What influenced you into becoming a plastic surgeon?

I wanted to help society to look more beautiful.

Getting older is not in your hands but looking younger is 🙂
