Stranger Things, the ever-popular supernatural thriller, has started airing season 2 this Friday 27th October.
Exclusively aired on Netflix, the world’s leading internet entertainment service provider, Stranger Things is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, and revolves around the investigation of a missing young boy and the supernatural events surrounding the mystery. The second season promises many more popcorn-gripping twists and turns, and I am gearing up to a Netflix binge-watch session this coming weekend!
And if the launch of Stranger Things season 2 isn’t good news enough, here’s enticing news for all you foodies out there…
Netflix has partnered up with Black Tap, Dubai’s much-loved burgers and shakes joint (located in scenic Jumeirah Naseem hotel) to celebrate the launch of Stranger Things 2 with a limited edition milkshake inspired by the wonderful world of the show!
And this shake is no ordinary monster shake…
Inspired by “Sour Toffee Apples”, the Stranger Shake is an irresistible blend of vanilla ice cream and caramel, with a vanilla frosted rim covered in apple pop rocks and Mike and Ikes wrapped in sour candy Christmas string lights, topped with a whole Eggo waffle, whipped cream, caramel drizzle and some more pop rocks for that extra kick. Even the demogorgon won’t be able to resist!
This shake can easily be shared between two to three adults, but mummies beware! My little 6 year-old demolished a good 75% of this monster on her own, and was on a major #sugarhigh for the rest of the evening!
Apart from the Stranger Shake, Black Tap has also created a Stranger Things inspired burger called the Eggos All American Burger (available in chicken, beef and vegetarian options).
With a nod to a love for waffles, the burger buns have been replaced by these and sandwiched inside is a prime burger dressed with lettuce, tomato, house-made pickles, American cheese and a special sauce. I had the beef burger, and loved the smoky aftertaste of the meat, but this meaty monster was far too large for burger-munching me! One Eggos All American Burger is enough for two.
A limited number of Stranger Shakes will be available at Black Tap every day until Saturday 11th November so head down soon to avoid disappointment.
