What’s New in Sephora? Drool-Worthy Beauty Updates for Fall 2017

Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Sephora Fall 2017 launch event. Every girl worth her makeup bag eagerly awaits anything to do with Sephora, there’s always something new and exciting happening here.

I got a sneak-peak of many of the brand new Fall 2017 beauty goodies that are hitting the Sephora shelves this October, and wanted to share a rundown of my favorites here with you…

Made in Sephora

Made in Sephora Hair Sleeping Mask Clay Mask Review 2017 Fall launch Dubai UAE Beauty Blog.jpg

Sephora Clay Masks

If you have been following my feeds, you already know I have an obsession for face masks. I am especially fond of the Sephora sheet mask range; they come in interesting varieties, super affordable (at AED 20 each), and I even got re-posted by none other than Huffington Post wearing one!

Outdoing themselves, Sephora now has a brand new range of clay masks under its label that extend beyond one-time use. Packaged in a cutesie plastic pouch with a utilitarian nozzle, these Sephora Clay Masks retail for AED 35 each, and are good for up to 4 uses (bargain deal!).

The Sephora Clay Masks come in a variety of 8. I’ll be trying the Sephora Grey Clay Mask soon, look out for my review.

Sephora Hair Sleeping Masks

Sephora masks are no longer restricted to the face, they now have a brand new range for the hair as well! Packed in the signature cuteness of made in Sephora products, these hair masks come in a variety of 4 (coconut, acai, rose and shea), and promise to deliver their magic as you sleep.

The kit contains a hair cap and product, and I am planning to give the Sephora Acai Hair Sleeping Mask a go this weekend (no messy pillow cases I hope!).

Sephora Strobing Palette

I love how Sephora houses the world’s best beauty brands, takes the best learnings of each, and comes up with equally high-quality yet affordable products under their own label.

This brand new Sephora Strobing Palette is a perfect example. The packaging is simple yet durable and compact, comes with a usable mirror and 4 universally flattering shades of highlighters.

The four highlighters are ultra luminous, and the intensity is easily buildable for more flexibility on the look you are going for.

Priced at AED 110, this kit would make for a lovely affordable gifting option.

Origins

With a tagline that reads ‘powered by nature’, this organic skincare range may be a newbie to our market, but has a die-hard fan following in the United States since the late eighties.

Conceptualized and created by William P. Lauder (grandson of the Estee Lauder beauty empire), the brand stands for cruelty-free beauty, and constantly revives its range with ground-breaking discoveries from Mother Nature herself.

“Our mission at Origins is to create high-performance skin care that is powered by nature and proven by science. We use potent plants, organic ingredients and 100% natural essential oils. And our long-standing commitment to protect the planet, its resources and all those who populate it is reaffirmed by our earth-friendly packaging and policies. Never Stop Discovering! ” – Origins website.

The Origins range looks very provencal pretty in its European-inspired packaging. I did a few swatches of their creams and other potions at the Sephora event, and couldn’t get over how wonderful everything smelt (a testament to the fine ingredients that go into each product).

Best of all, the Origins range is very affordable for an organics skincare range and starts as low as AED 25 (for sheet masks).

I’ve been using the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. Will be posting a review real soon!

Marc Jacobs

Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette

Always high on drama, iconic fashion and beauty brand Marc Jacobs has launched a provocative range of 6 signature eye-shadow palettes under the label Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadows.

Each palette comes with 7 highly pigmented, long-wearing shadows, four of which are termed ‘fashion finishes’ (velvet, satin, silk and lame). The palettes are inspired from the Marc Jacobs catwalk where layering different fabrics together is key, and each palette comes with an interesting name of its own.

Provocouture (dusty plum and magenta), Glambition (bare and bronze), Frivoluxe (chilled greige and violet), Scandalust (rust and warmed browns with scarlet), Edgitorial (camouflage and reflective gold) and Sartorial (celestial cobalt and icy teal with prismatic gray).

Hard to choose a favorite! And I’m also eyeing the brand new Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Eye Primer. This wee white tube promises to lock in eye-shadow wear to 12 hours straight!

Fenty Beauty

Bad Girl Riri’s debut into the world of beauty has been making headlines everywhere, and I was particularly swooning over her highlighter collection. Pretty bummed out I had to miss the Fenty Beauty Sephora launch, but got a firsthand intro to her range at the Fall event.

If you are planning to get a Fenty Beauty highlighter, beauty buffs around me have been strongly recommending the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter (retailing for AED 160).

The foundations range on the other hand, has been getting mixed reviews. I got my hands on the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Long Wear Foundation, and will be putting up an honest review real soon.

Huda Beauty

Dubai’s very own #BeautyBoss manages to come up with something new for our Sephora wishlist every season! This fall, Huda Beauty is finally launching a foundation range of her own.

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eye-Shadow Palette

Her Rose Gold palette flew off the shelves in record time internationally, and the second edition of colors is out.

Inspired by an exotic Arabian adventure, the palette features 18 shades in four unique textures: one dazzling glitter, eight creamy mattes, six shimmering pearl shades, and three duo-chrome toppers.

While Desert Rose was geared more towards reds and shades of pink, Desert Dusk is more purple, blue and peach.

This palette has received very mixed reviews from beauty mavens, and the recent spat between well-loved beauty YouTubers NikkieTutorials and Micheal Finch has gone viral. What’s your take?

Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation

I got a firsthand trial of the much-awaited Huda Beauty #FauxFilter Foundation at the Sephora Fall launch.

First off, I love the packaging! This sturdy square bottle would look so stylish on my vanity shelf.

Wanting to reach out to a global audience with a variety of skin needs, Huda created a range of 30 unique shades.

On first swatch, I loved the pigmentation of the product. This foundation easily delivers mid to full coverage. It has a matte finish making it ideal for the UAE summers.

The Huda Beauty #FauxFinish Foundation will retail for around $40 worldwide.

Kat Von D

Kat Von D Shade + Light Creme Contour Refillable Palette

I love all things Kat Von D… the bold new colors of the Everlasting lip color range, the unconventionally poetic names of the shades, and the underlying gothicness of the packaging.

I’ve been eyeing the Kat Von D Shade+Light palette for a while, and this Fall Sephora is introducing the very same cult favorite in a creme formulation! Super happy to have it in my brand new stash of Sephora goodies, and will be reviewing it soon.

Tarte Cosmetics

Tarte Cosmetics has launched an entire new range of makeup must-haves based on Amazonian clay. Loaded with natural goodness and promising a clean, polished finish that lasts all day, the range includes much-coveted eye-shadows, foundations and contouring powders.

If there’s one product you have to get from Tarte this season, I suggest you go for the Tarte High-Performance Clay Play Face Shaping Palette.

This is an all in one palette for the entire face. The products can be used for eye-shadows, contouring, eye-brows and even lining the eyes. The possibilities are endless, and it smells amazing too!

The Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette retails for AED 215.

Becca Cosmetics

Of all the highlighters I’ve had the pleasure of using, I always come back to Becca (specifically so my Becca Lowlight Highlight Perfecting Palette).

In tune with the current holographic highlighter trend, Becca Cosmetics has upped the game with the brand new Becca Light Chaser Highlighter for the face and eyes.

The packaging is a retake of their signature spaceship-like pan. The black has been replaced with a new-age bronze, the size reduced to make it more pocket friendly.

I have it in the shade Topaz Flashes Gilt, a very shimmery, highly pigmented sheen of silver with an underlying hint of violet. Would work beautifully well for a special night out.

All this (and more!) can now be bought at all Sephora stores across the UAE, or shop online on Sephora.ae
